Dear Clients and Friends of the Firm,
As the CEO of Chapman, Hext & Co., P.C. and our affiliates, it is with both sadness and pleasure that I am writing you this letter and telling you that succession planning really does work.
On January 1, 1990, Charles Chapman and I formed Chapman, Hext & Co. We have been blessed with a growing firm of quality professionals and the opportunity to expand our Firm and its affiliates to meet the needs of our clients.
It is hard to believe that it has been almost twenty years since the Firm was founded. Time does fly by! About three years ago, Charles decided that he wanted to spend more time with his grandkids, community services, traveling and skiing. We all agreed that it was time to execute our buy-sell and our succession plan. Our goal was to make the transition transparent to all of our clients.
During the last three years we have worked at allowing Charles to move out of the day-to-day operations and any client responsibility in the Firm and CH Wealth Management. During this time Nancy Schulze, who has been with the Firm for nineteen years, moved into the role of President of the Firm and into the management of CH Wealth Management. She also continues to be in charge of all tax matters of the Firm. Consequently, as of December 31, 2009, Charles will no longer have any responsibilities with either the Firm or its affiliates and we will have completely accomplished our succession plan.
It is with great sadness that we bid Charles farewell, but we are also excited about the direction of the Firm and all of the affiliates. It gives us great pleasure to know that we have been able to accomplish the transition of our Firm with the departure of one of the Founders to the next generation of Management.
Our strategic plan going forward is for Chapman, Hext & Co. and its affiliates to continue to serve our client’s financial reporting, tax, corporate finance and wealth management needs for many years to come. We believe that we have a business model that allows us to be our client’s CPA and trusted business advisor during the life cycle of their relationship with our Firm.
If you have any questions about the transition or the services we can offer, please do not hesitate to contact Nancy Schulze or me. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with all of our clients and friends during the years to come.
Sincerely,
Gregory W. Hext, CEO
Chapman, Hext & Co., P.C.
